Progressive doesn’t want my business.

November 3rd, 2011 by Eye in the Sky in East Bluff · 2 Comments

Just got a letter from progressive about a quote for my house. They refused to issue a policy because ” Oldest bankcard account was opened between 97 and and 215 months ago. Optimum value is 216 months or more.” That’s 18 YEARS so they just lost all of my business.  I dropped ALL my policies with them. The rep I talked to when I called to cancel said it had to be a mistake. I told him if it was they sure screwed up I would not be bothered with a company that uses that as a reason to not issue a policy.
They had no problem taking my money for my other policies but didn’t want to have my business for my home.  FYI last time I even file a claim was  over 10 years ago. I wanted a $ 5,000.00 deductable they only went to $2,500.00. My new company goes up to $10,000.00.

Legal Question.

October 30th, 2011 by Eye in the Sky in East Bluff · 15 Comments

From the story I read on PJS about the guy getting robbed on his front porch. What would his option have been for self defense? Could he have used his own Firearm to defend himself since he was unable to retreat under the castle doctrine. I am not sure which law this would fall under since IL gives more rights to the criminals than they give to the law abiding citizens. I for one would consider this a life and death situation and deadly force would have been used. I would even consider it fair game to shoot them in the back as they ran away. Not just the one with the gun but all 3 of them since they participated in the crime they are all guilty and should suffer the same punishment as the one with the gun.

Can’t wait to hear form the anti gun folks about 2 wrongs don’t make a right. Lets not forget the folks that feel sorry for the criminals since they grew up poor, had no daddy in there life or my favorite they were just miss understood youth. Forget the fact they are running around the city with an illegal firearm and robbing people of there hard earned money.

They are also affecting the entire city do to the fact people will not want to come into a city with thugs running around robbing folks. I consider them TERRORIST and they should be dealt with accordingly.

Update from the hood;

Several calls of shots fired around midnight on Saturday. Also had one suspect wanted who ran from police in 700 block  Kansas toward Frye thru the house. He never crossed Frye( batman was there 5 seconds after the air was cleared) they didn’t find him they searched for 15 minutes.  There was also a shooting in the southend someone shot in the back.  Most of these won’t make the news because their is no police report filed about the incident.

So just a quite night in the river city.

NOTHING TO SEE HERE CITIZEN MOVE ALONG!!!

The city’s answer to CRIME!!!!

October 26th, 2011 by Eye in the Sky in East Bluff · 5 Comments

It’s actually very simple STAY IN YOUR HOUSE AND LOCK THE DOORS. That is the message they are  telling the older folks in Peoria. Why because they don’t have the man power to actually protect ANYBODY. You will be lucky in they have someone to send out AFTER you have bee killed let alone have someone to protect you while your alive. The city has cut the budget so far to the bone there are not enough officers to do the job and the best thing they can suggest is to lock your self in your home and HOPE the crooks go somewhere else.

What does this tell the folks that want to come into town and spend there money. Who is going to want to stay in a hotel downtown or come to a museum. When the POLICE are telling folks to lock themselves in there homes. If someone comes to the door call the police and PRAY they get there in time to HELP you.

This is not the way to run the city living in fear. We have folks getting robbed raking there yard. Now we have folks getting tied up in there homes and watching there home get looted not being able to do anything. Yet they still have to PAY for services they are not getting from the city. N0w they say they can save us money on ameren bill and they have a better deal for the dreamtel downtown which will only cost 92,000,000.00 instead of 102,000,000,00. They can’t even keep us safe in our homes now they think they can get us a better price on power and a cheaper hotel. This will make EVERYTHING Better Here.

WAKE UP this is not going to make the problem go away it’s only going to get WORSE because you are losing money from folks that WILL NOT come into Peoria to spend there money if you have the Police telling us to STAY INSIDE and HIDE. You better find a way to get the crime under control NOW not after someone else gets shot and killed then form a TASK FORCE  to concentrate on ONE area you more Officer in every district.

They need to be stopping folks and getting some ID’s and run names to see who is in what area and WHY. I don’t care if you have to step on some toes to do it. This needs to be done to get the crooks/thugs OFF the streets or the city will just slide right into the river in front of your eyes.

Journal Star Getting on the JOB FINALLY!!!! NO they dropped the story.

October 24th, 2011 by Eye in the Sky in East Bluff · 7 Comments

I would have to say the Journal Star doesn’t like be insulted by bloggers or maybe they don’t like being scooped by us. Since my last story they have just updated the site to show the crimes that are happening EVERYDAY. There are some really scary one’s coming into the light. Maybe now folks will see Peoria has some REAL issues that need help NOW.

City council cannot brush this under the rug now that it is PUBLIC. Maybe the hotel will have to go on hold for another 23 years since nobody is going to come stay here if they fear for there life just coming into Peoria. Maybe they will be attacked in there car by some MOB and get shot.

I am thinking there was WAY more to the trouble earlier this summer over on Brons than we were led to believe. Of course PPD is trying to down play the whole thing again but when you have folks attacked at lunch time and blame it on school getting out early. Then to blame the next one on a party getting over. That just doesn’t sound like the WHOLE truth to me.

Then we have people getting slashed inside there own house in he middle of the night that is just down right insane. Then we have the little store on Frye getting several thousands of dollars of products stolen. They said they were inside for an hour would have to say there were no patrols past the area for at least an hour that night. That is either under staffing or plain lazy not sure which way to call that when I keep seeing police cars sitting in the funeral home parking lot. I understand they have to write reports but does it take 2 or 3 of them sitting there to do this.

Now if the PJS keeps reporting what is really going on this will keep the pressure on the council to get more officers on the street before someone gets killed by the roving bands of THUGS.

I for one will not hesitate you start pounding on or threating with guns  my vehicle. I will turn it into a 7000 pound battering ram to get away and protect myself and my family.

Batman report.

October 23rd, 2011 by Eye in the Sky in East Bluff · 1 Comment

While siting outside this morning saw 3 black males walking east bound. One bouncing basketball the other carrying a baseball bat. All of a sudden they turned around to walk the other way the one with the bat stashed it in the bushes. They proceeded to walk up the driveway of the next house over. Just then I saw police car at the end of my sidewalk. (I assume they saw him is why they stashed the bat in the first place. ) I hollered for him and told him what I had seen just then they came out of the driveway and proceed to walk the way they had started. The officer went over and stopped them and proceed to question them. He got IDs and ran them no warrants (I assume nobody got cuffed). He then went over to the bush and pulled out the bat seemed nobody wanted to claim it so he put it in his trunk. Couple minutes of talking to them they were sent on there way. The officers then went the drive where the kids had gone and found nothing.

Just another day in the HOOD. This will never make the news but you can bet even money they were up to no good.

So BATMAN may have just STOPPED a crime from happening today. Of course I am pretty sure they know it was me who flagged the officer down and pointed them out. So we will have to wait and see if  BATMAN will be called into action later today.

Calls that don’t make the NEWS!!!!

October 22nd, 2011 by Eye in the Sky in East Bluff · 5 Comments

There were SEVERAL calls lastnight with SHOTS FIRED. They started about 5:30 and went till about 7:00. First was Frye and Wisconsin then peoria and thrush and then peoria and frye then republic and wisconsin. These happened so close together they had to call cops from other parts of the city to help still don’t think they ever caught anybody.  It was nice having the amount of police coverage the area really needs to get thing under control. However this never last long enough to get things cleaned up.

The other one that DID NOT   made the news was the old couple robbed by a guy who they said was at there house last week asking for work.  By the way he only had a knife.

Now its a pretty sad state of affairs when even old people are not SAFE in there own home.

The city needs to DROP all the BS projects and CONCENTRATE on getting the crime under control. Who in there right is going to come into peoria to spend money on anything if they don’t feel safe. You can  read the stories ever day about this shooting or that robbery.

I think maybe 25% of the crimes actually make it into the news unless someone is shot. I hear at least 5-7 burglary calls a day they don’t seem to all make the paper in one area on the other.

So for folks wanting to come into peoria I would say buy a scanner then you can check ahead of time if its SAFE to drive in or if you should just STAY AWAY.

For our lovley city council GET YOR HEADS OUT OF THE SAND the CRIME needs to be dealt with FIRST. Then you can give away the millions of dollars that seem to be burning a whole in your pockets.

On a side note can we start ARRESTING the folks holding the signs at Big Hollow, Sam’s club and Allen road Walmart. I see them every time I go to spend money at those places I know the one is a registered sex offender the other one  not sure. This kind of thing I don’t see at E. Peoria walmart.

Scariest Police Traffic EVER!!!

October 8th, 2011 by Eye in the Sky in East Bluff · 11 Comments

Listen to the Bat Scanner today and heard Sgt ask for Adam-10  and Adam-5 to go over to prep 3. Of course my Bat scanner picks this up Sgt tells Adam-10 we need you to clear what you are doing as soon as possible we have NO coverage in the North end or the Entire East Bluff. Mind you this is Saturday early evening just about the time the hood starts to get even more busy and it has been a beautiful day with tons of foot traffic going by.

Later I heard Adam-5 come on and tell the Sgt he could not hear the traffic because he was in the locker room which I am going to assume is inside the Police Station. They had quite a few back logged calls it took them awhile to get caught back up. Lucky we did not have any Armed robberies like we had earlier this week.

Also an update it seems the PJS doesn’t want folks to know that Subway at 1800 N Knoxville was robbed this week. They seem to have missed it in there news feeds this week. Guess they do think its better hear as long as folks don’t know how bad it can be here. Let also not forget the stories they have printed about Frye ave are right smack in the middle of the new TIF and just 2 blocks outside of the impact zone.

The city has cut the police to the point where ther is no where near the coverage needed to even give basic coverage and they keep threatening to cut them even further. They only seem to care about all there PET projects and not the fact that crimes are making a major come back. Maybe when somebody gets robbed at city hall they might take notice but until then I think they will just keep standing on ther little box saying “It’s better Here”. They don’t seem to realize folks are not going to come into town and spend money if they are afraid for there safety. So the new museum and the hotel will not make any money if they sit empty simply because they have ignored the crime problem hoping it will just go away.

My Visit to Bass Pro Shop

September 22nd, 2011 by Eye in the Sky in East Bluff · 4 Comments

I went to BassPro this morning at about 11 am. The store is nothing if not HUGE it was a circus getting throught the parking lot folk don’t seem to think my 7000 lb van will not kill them if they run in front of me. Any way finally got up to the 12 foot tall wooden front doors as we go through them they start to close and hit my daughter. Come up to the carousel to get in and the nice lady at the  podium say go to the right and you can get your cart in. Go through a lovely wrought iron style gate and the first thing I see is the race truck then the race car.

We proceed to walk the main isle toward the giant fish tank at the very back of the store. The first thing I think is this looks a lot like wild life prarie park with stuffed animals every where you look. Finally get back to the fish tank and was very disapointed I was under the impression it was going to have native fish in it some of the fish I saw definetly don’t come from the river.

After that we went to look at the differant guns since this is a redneck store there have to be guns to look at. Followed the counter and looked at them all the whole time about 15 minutes not one person behind the counter asked me if I would like some help or for that matter even bothered to smile at us. Mind you I had my cutest daughter in the cart seat and the next one hanging on the end of the cart. any other store and they get INSTANT smile from the store workers. The staff seemed like they could care less if we were there or not.

We then proceeded around under all the deer heads and then past the arcade and then into the bowling slash bar area. Of course we are told we have to pull everyone out of the cart and carry our stuff through the area because carts are not allowed in the bar. After walking around I could see why is was as tight as a hallway bar in downtown. Got back to our cart grabbed price list for bowling and food prices. I guess I am just a cheap skate because the prices seemed a little high for what they were serving size wise and bowling is by the hour up to 25 bucks per hour on the weekend.

Finally managed to get past the folks waiting 45 minutes for a seat to eat lunch. We then headed over to the Fudge shop Nice little theme of old store about dozen types of fudge this staff was VERY friendly and gave us sample with a smile. The prices again were definetly a little more than I think the average person will pay but the tourists will eat it up. After this we went through and looked as the clothing and other items in the middle part of the store. Clothing was kind of pricey I looked at a pair of gloves for winter and they were 35.00 and seemed very thin and didn’t feel very warm. Didn’t bother looking at the boat stuff NOT my thing.

My biggest disapointment was the fact they have missed an entire segment of the outdoor market. Us folks that go RV camping they carried absolutley nothing for us. So that leaves me with only camping world up north for a those kind of items there is always Walmart if I need something in a pinch.

The best way to sum up the BassPro Shop is to say Wild Life Prairie park meets Super Walmart at Kolhs prices. I really am quite disapointed and see no reason to go back which is a shame because I do enjoy doing outdoor activeties.

How many people in Peoria make the DESICIONS

September 20th, 2011 by Eye in the Sky in East Bluff · 8 Comments

The article in the PJS this morning said 11 people came to the meeting regarding front yard fences. 9 of these folk said they don’t like them and 2 said they did. Now the city is taking this as a mandate from the people that we don’t want front yard fences. Is this how its suppose to work when only a hand full of folks can make the meeting the one that show up get what they want. I would like to see this on a ballot since it will effect the entire city not just a handfull of people. Of course we know how the city works this was done to make somebody with MONEY happy. This would have effected the new developments that don’t allow any fences to be put up even in the backyard.

I tried earlier this year to get a fence installed on just the side of my front yard to prevent the renters from DRIVING through my yard. I went down to the planning office got the forms and came home to get ALL the measurements for my property. It was like doing a survey to get all the distances they required. I even got my 3 bidders to get me detailed plans and samples of the fencing we were going to use. Got all this together and my ckeck for the FEE went to the office and was told by the planner they would NOT approve my fence this was even before he looked over any of my paper work. The reasoning was there were no other fences within sight of my house so it would not fit into the neighborhood. It didn’t even matter that the fence was to PROTECT my house from being hit by cars. There only suggestion was a small retaining wall made of railroad ties. I did do this however I think it looks uglier than the fence would have but at least renters can’t drive through my yard.

So now it would never happen because some folks decided fences are a sign of a neighborhood going down hill. So I would assume they think Chicago is a bad city since almost every house has a fence of somekind in the frontyard.

Armed home invasion!

July 16th, 2011 by Eye in the Sky in East Bluff · 1 Comment

1600 block peoria female just had black male kick in door point gun at her then made her lay on floor while he stole her 32 inch flat screen TV. This happened at 12:40 AM. So now I guess it doesn’t matter if your home or not they are going to steal what ever they want. I give the cops a little credit on this one there was only a 3 minute response time. Of course at this point no suspects or direction of travel.  They have all cleared the scene within 7 minutes and guess its back to hanging at the funeral home. Hopefully they will move out north where the REAL RICH people live and stop stealing from us poor folks who live in a blighted neighborhood.
