When are we going to see picture in the paper of these fools with the stereo so loud the car vibrates sitting on the curb watching there car being TOWED away. They could get some where around 20-30 a day from just my street. CITY of PEORIA you need a way to make up some cash FAST you start impounding these cars like the ordinance says, you could make thousands the first day. Then give them 30 days to come get it or part it out and sell the sound systems for half price and then the cars rims could bring several grand remember PART them out worth more money that way. After that you can just sell the car for scrap after you take the stereo and rims there’s nothing left worth anything anyway. After about 3 months of this you would have NO budget issues and the city would be quite.
You would be stimulating the economy as well tow companies making cash then you need at least a part-time crew to take out the stereo parts and speakers (minimum wage of course) the scrap yard would be making cash, then a techie to either sell on eBay or craigslist. Don’t forget CASH ONLY NO CHECKS.

I agree boom cars are a menace and degrade the quality of life for virtually everyone, whether on the road or in their neighborhoods.
Another revenue generator would be the equivalent of a speed trap. Put squad cars on those roads with chonic problems. In CA, the statute is that sound can be heard beyond 75 feet (50 at night) and does not have to hit a particular decibel level. There is no justification for me to hear their thump (I never hear any music, just powerful low frequency pounding).
