I sent his honor a message in regards to the code violation properties. Will update when I get a response from him.
On another note there have several shots fired in the East Bluff this afternoon. The info I got says 4-5 shots fired at a house no injuries reported this happened at 1:30 in the afternoon.
The JS reported the wide range of shots fired the other night what they did not mentions was it was a black male leaning out the passenger side of car and firing 2 guns, there were also several cars and a couple of houses hit with bullets.

just curious as to why you think you should go to the Mayor with Code enforcement violations. Wouldn’t that be like going to the Governor because your meat was undercooked. Forgive me if I should know this, but have you worked through the appropriate channels?

Yes I have done the proper channels and they keep ignoring the problems. The property at 603 has had issues ever since I moved into the bluff 16 years ago and repeated calls to code have not gotten results. However 1 email to the mayor and they were out the next day taking pictures of the property.This is also to let the mayor know that the issues in the East Bluff will not just go away. Yes it should NOT have to be this way BUT since they won’t do there job any other way this is how it is going to get done.

You must be on a government blacklist. So far you’ve called the cops on a kid on a scooter, a kid with firecrackers, and now you’re bugging the mayor.

Actually, it was an adult who had been driving the whole neighborhood nuts with the unlicensed scooter and the fireworks are a lot more than “firecrackers”. I don’t “bug” the Mayor, though. I just e-mail photos to our Councilperson and Shawn at PeoriaCares. Oh, and I have also e-mailed the Chief of Police on occasion. If we do not work on the quality of life issues, we will never solve some of the bigger issues.
Glen Oak Park was crowded tonight. First concert for the Peoria Municipal Band was well attended. We want people feel be safe in the neighborhood whether they live here or are visiting.
I do not always agree with Eye, but I also complained about the “Scooter Guy” and the fireworks that light up the sky and sound like a cannon.

Cameron;
The kid with fireworks could have been a gun shouldn’t hide stuff on others property. As far as the mayor if his depts would do there job I wouldn’t have to bother him and they could keep loaning out money to developers.
ramble; What kind of results have you gotten from our new councilperson.

I assume you have no use for our 3rd district councilman on issues in his district since you go to the mayor.
I too have heard gunshots (1700 block California) but that has become the “norm”, fireworks also at all hours, 11pm last night.
Summer in the hood…

Not sure how to answer the councilperson question. I think he is trying to get some resolution on the trespasser issue.

I just got a response from code enforcement with picts but will have to write a whole new blog w/picts.
Martin ever since I sent the first email and he never even sent me a robo email I assume he doesn’t want to hear my complaint. The mayor however responded and even got code off there butt and doing something.
Ramble its simple have you asked him to do something and gotten a result.

I have gotten responses from him and I think he is trying to get something together with a couple of landlords. I am sure they will not be overly cooperative.

Ramble;
Have you seen we NOW have our own trail I have been seeing the kids ride there bikes thru the trail. I think they have finally broken out the last remains of the fence along the back of the yard.
Now if we could only get a McDonalds.
